Introduction

Electrical and computer engineering connects our world. ECE fields range from the nanoscale to the gigantic, from electronics for microscopic integrated circuits and biological systems to large-scale energy generators and the power grid, from the maker movement to theoretical quantum mechanics.
The discipline of electrical and computer engineering pervades every aspect of modern society, and continues to be the cornerstone of rapid technological advances that improve the quality of life in this millennium. At the undergraduate level, ECE offers 4 years full-time degree programs. Students can also choose Specializations in the Internet-of-Things, and in Robotics. The curricula that enable students to design customized programs comprising a specific set of courses, tailored to meet their individual interests and career goals. Engineering design is emphasized through various project modules and through a specialized Aerospace Systems Design track that ECE hosts through the Faculty’s Innovation & Design Program.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PEO-1 : Contribute to solutions of engineering problems by applying their technical knowledge, their experience with modern industry tools, and their understanding of the impact that engineering can have on global, societal, and environmental issues.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

v  Engineering Graduates will be able to:

1.Depth: To be effective in applying electrical engineering principles in engineering practice or for advanced study.

2. Breadth: To have a productive career in the many diverse fields of electrical engineering such as analog engineering, bioengineering, communications, and electromagnetics and waves, or in the pursuit of graduate education in disciplines such as electrical engineering, medicine, law or business.

3. Professionalism: To function effectively in the complex modern work environment with the ability to assume professional leadership roles.

 

Program Specific Outcome:

 

PSO-1 : Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineeringfundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PSO-2 : Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complexengineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PSO-3 : Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems anddesign system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PSO-4 : Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and researchmethods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PSO-5 : Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modernengineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

Faculty

The department is well equipped with the state of the art laboratories like Survey lab with Total station, digital theodolite and GPS. The soil Mechanics lab is equipped with triaxial testing machine, unconfined compression testing machine and consolidation testing facilities. We have a Concrete Technology lab with all facilities to test the material characteristics of building materials and Bitumen. The strength of Materials lab is equipped with a 40 Ton UTM. We have a well equipped Fluid Mechanics Lab with prototypes of turbines, pumps, and flow measuring equipments. The Environmental Engineering Laboratory contains water quality analysis and waste water quality analysis testing facilities.
